Community Guidelines

Last Updated: August 2025

At Strangely, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe and respected while making new connections.
These guidelines are here to help create a space where strangers can meet, talk, and leave feeling a little less strange — and a lot more human.

1. Respect Above All

  • Kindness is non-negotiable. Treat everyone with empathy, even if you disagree.
  • No harassment, hate speech, or discrimination. We have zero tolerance for harmful behavior.
  • Listen as much as you talk. Strangely works best when everyone feels heard.

2. Protect Your Privacy

  • Avoid sharing sensitive personal details (home address, financial info, full legal name) during sessions.
  • Do not share other participants' personal details outside the session.
  • Never record, screenshot, or share conversations without explicit permission from everyone involved.

3. Keep it Real, Keep it Appropriate

  • Strangely is not a dating platform or a place for solicitation.
  • No inappropriate, explicit, or illegal content.
  • Do not attempt to recruit participants for external groups, causes, or commercial activities.

4. Watch for Warning Signs

If another participant makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable:

  • Leave the session immediately if needed.
  • Report the behavior to us via the in-session report button or by emailing hello@strangely.io.
  • Our team investigates every report promptly and takes necessary action, including warnings, suspensions, or bans.

5. Technology & Environment

  • Use a stable internet connection and a working camera and microphone to ensure smooth conversations.
  • Choose a quiet, respectful setting — background noise or interruptions can disrupt the session.
  • We recommend using headphones for privacy and better audio quality.

6. Our Commitment to You

We promise to:

  • Moderate the platform to maintain a safe and positive environment.
  • Act promptly on safety reports or inappropriate behavior.
  • Continuously improve features that prioritize trust and comfort for all participants.
  • Never sell your personal data or compromise your privacy.

7. If Something Feels Off, Speak Up

Strangely is built on mutual trust. If someone crosses a line:

  • You're not overreacting.
  • You're not ruining the vibe.
  • You're helping protect the community.

Contact us anytime at hello@strangely.io. We'll listen and take action.

Together, we can make strangers feel a little less strange — and a lot safer.
